City of New Smyrna Beach Ready for Tropical Storm

In preparation for Hurricane Isaias the City of New Smyrna Beach on the east coast of Florida installed this 4-inch trailer mounted centrifugal pump.

Heavy rainfall forecast

"Northeast Florida will see up to 4 inches of rain and the storm will dump up to 8 inches of water in parts of the Carolinas" according to the National Hurricane Center.

Portable trailer pumps are installed to prevent for urban flooding. The pictured multifunctional BA100K is vacuum assisted and has a large solids handling to prevent clogging. A quite pump is not important during tropical storms but the canopy optimally protects the pump and diesel engine against heavy rain.
