Winter Pumping in Chilly Canada

Tuesday, January 28, 2020

During the cold Canadian winter months, six BBA dry prime pumps from the rental company Cooper Pumps Solutions were set up to dewater several ponds as part of a highway construction project.

“Here we see another advantage of portable pumps in a sound-attenuated canopy. This way we can more easily retain the heat emitted from the diesel engine and also use the vacuum assisted pump units at an outside temperature of −10 degrees Celsius (14° Fahrenheit). To prevent downtime due to frost damage, we needed to apply a few creative solutions, but as pump specialists, that’s just what we do”, said General Manager, Jason Bunston.
